As I’m pretty new to Bloomington, I have yet to work up a portfolio specific to the area but I will be doing so in the future (think illustrations of plants in the Bloomington Orchard, local parks, and local farms). But I do have Indiana related work looking at some of Indiana’s state symbols.
Other collections I think would be a good fit are my houseplants and mushrooms.
I also think my Deadly Beauty collections would do well in your shop. These collections feature flowers that are used in ornamental gardens but are actually toxic and sometimes deadly if consumed. I really like the juxtaposition of these beautiful flowers with the poisons they contain.

This illustration is part of my state symbols series. The state flower of Indiana is the peony, and, while no specific color variation is noted, most places depict the pink peony. But these white peonies grow outside my boyfriend’s grandparents’ home, and I love the magenta tips in the center, so I had to use them as a reference for this painting.

This illustration is part of my state symbols series. I had no idea this tree existed until I started researching for the state symbols of Indiana. It’s also known as the Tulip Poplar, though it is actually a member of the magnolia family, which makes sense with its large, cup-shaped flowers.
